POLITICAL ACADEMY FOR CENTRAL AND SOUTH-EASTERN EUROPE (PACE)

Representatives of the International Republican Institute, the Allied Democratic Forces and independent experts and analysts, established it at the end of 1996 in Bulgaria.
After the amendments made in its Articles of Association and the consequent programmatic changes, PACE was registered in court under 4552/ 22.04.1999. It is established in Sofia. Due to the requirements of the new law for the Non - Governmental Organizations, the Political Academy is re-registered on 2.01.2002, as an organization of public profit.


POLITICAL ACADEMY OBJECTIVES:

  • To support initiatives for the development of a democratic and civil society by establishing a professional political class, functioning state administration and local authority;

  • To create an institutional framework for constantly working together among democratic parties and independent experts who will develop and distribute the agenda for the democratic processes in Bulgaria;

  • To develop and implement through programs for training in modern decision-making practices, in which the information, analysis and political action form a single strategic package;

  • To develop and implement academic programs for political training that correspond to modern interactive training models;

  • To develop the cooperation with state institutions and universities for creating a modern educational and scientific strategy;

  • To create formulas for constant dialogue among leaders from non-governmental organizations and political parties from Southeastern Europe in order to create modern political and social culture, based on the specific features of the region and the established democratic values.

  • THE MEANS BY WHICH THE ACADEMY ACHEIVES ITS OBJECTIVES ARE:

  • Organizing and holding national and international meetings, seminars, training, demonstrations, consultations;

  • Publishing printed materials or distributing e-editions;

  • Preparing analyses and programs on problems connected with the objectives of the Foundation;

  • Developing and distributing information products;

  • Training in spheres connected with the objectives of the Foundation;

  • Exchange of information;

  • Aid in making contacts;

  • Cooperation with similar organizations and persons in Bulgaria and abroad.
